The CSBG and LIHEAP Programs are state-funded programs that give financial assistance based on income and need. All clients must undergo some case management. Assistance is determined by the state of Mississippi virtual capital ROMA Data Collection and Client Tracking System.

CSBG is designed to assist low to moderate income, healthy household members in attaining an adequate education, securing and retaining employment, making better use of available income, obtaining and maintaining adequate housing, nutrition, health services, achievement of self-sufficiency, etc. The program assists those served with immediate life necessities such as food, rent or house notes,
utilities, and transport directly or through community partners. Clients may also receive assistance with tuition, books, uniforms, and other school or work related necessities. Participants in the program must agree to go through case management plan, which requires commitment to a structured plan or becoming self-sufficient by requiring marketable informant skills and counseling on work ethics comma financial management comma parenting an assessment available resources period.

LIHEAP provides financial assistant for low-to-moderate income households to help pay the cost of home energy bills. Priority is given to serving the elderly.
